Working in tandem with local developers, engineers and architects from Portland, fourth year architecture students at NewSchool, investigated growth and development opportunities within the Ford District located in Southeast Portland which, over the next few years, will be the context for redevelopment in one of the most dynamic and evolving cities in the northwest region.
Integrated Design Studio - Fall 2016/Winter 2017
This studio focused on the redevelopment of a large urban site in the rapidly growing Central Eastside In Portland, Oregon. A mixture of commercial and residential development, infrastructure and high quality public areas are to be created. The scale of the development based itself on existing developments and surrounding districts.
The studio practice compared issues, approaches and proposals as part of an ongoing conversation about contemporary directions in urban design and architecture. Read more at NewSchool's website.
